Ways We Help

CBT

Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) is an empirically supported and effective treatment for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders that reveals the relationship between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and the behaviors that follow.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is part of positive psychology that is a moment-to-moment awareness of one’s experience without judgment. Mindfulness is a state and not a trait. While it is akin to practices or activities, like meditation, it is not equivalent to or synonymous with them and is very helpful in treating mental and psychological distress.

Solution Focused Therapy

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems.

Internal Family Systems

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an approach to psychotherapy that identifies and addresses multiple sub-personalities or families within each person’s mental system. It is an evidence-based approach that has been shown to be effective for treating a variety of conditions. It is used to treat individuals, couples, and families and their symptoms, such as depression, anxiety, phobias, panic, as well as improving general functioning and well-being.

Relational Life Therapy

Relational Life Therapy (RLT) focuses on the problem areas of your relational behavior along with past family of origin issues, or traumas, and teaches invaluable relational skills. It is primarily used with couples to learn how to end the cycle of fighting and/or distancing, increase intimacy, learn to get what you want in healthy ways, and work through infidelity and trust issues. RLT can also teach you skills that will enhance your awareness of self and empower your relationship.

Sex Therapy

A type of talk therapy designed to help individuals and couples address medical, psychological, personal, or interpersonal factors impacting their sex life.

The goal of sex therapy is to help people move past physical and emotional challenges to have a satisfying relationship and pleasurable sex life. Sex therapy often integrates with other types of therapy. This means talking about other aspects of life, not just sex.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an empirically supported psychotherapy method shown to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue but rather focuses on allowing the brain to resume its natural healing process.

EMDR is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain and can be completed in fewer sessions than other psychotherapies.
